Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with SPED endorsements.
• ESL certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Knowledge of ARD/IEP goal setting and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs as required.
• Plan and use strategies and materials reflecting students' learning styles and needs.
• Cooperate with classroom teachers to modify curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines.
• Use varied instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology in teaching/learning processes.
