Job description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where youll make a real impact as a Special Education Teacher. This onsite position focuses on providing dedicated support to elementary students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) in a resource-rich environment. Based at a welcoming elementary school, youll collaborate with colleagues to help students grow, learn, and thrive throughout the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification required (Tier 3 or 4), current and ready to upload as part of your application.
• Experience working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for creating inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support to students on your caseload (typically around 9 students with DCD).
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure students unique educational needs are met.
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching techniques to meet varying skill levels.
• Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and families to foster student success.
• Maintain accurate records, stay current with special education best practices, and participate in professional development.
• Cultivate a safe, positive, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
