Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for MOID/SID/PID at Forest Park Middle in Morrow, Georgia. The position starts immediately and is a full-time role.

Responsibilities include participating in IEP conferences, implementing behavior management plans, and collaborating with parents and staff to support student progress. Salary scales for 2026-2027 are not yet available; refer to the 2025-2026 scales for guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• A minimum of one year's teaching experience preferred.
• Certification: Special Education Adapted Curriculum & all five content areas (GACE 083/084 + 087/088 for P-8) High School is Special Education Adapted Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Participates in IEP conferences including behavior management plans, functional analysis of behavior, placement, and annual reviews.
• Develops strategies for maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning and utilizes effective teaching methods and employs a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to the maturity, interests, and needs of the students.
• Provides appropriate diagnostic testing, identifies student capabilities and monitors student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, CCPS, and GaDOE policies.
• Communicates with parents on an individual or small group basis.
• Consults with appropriate professional staff regarding a student's educational program.
• All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
