Job summary

St. Joseph’s Villa is seeking an Education Coordinator to assess students’ academic needs, design and implement lesson plans, and support staff in managing student behaviors. The role emphasizes application of ABA and evidence-based teaching methods to promote meaningful learning outcomes.

You will supervise instructional staff, prepare progress reports, ensure compliance with licensing standards, and collaborate with families to support each student’s education and development.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in education.
• MS degree in Special Education K-12 and Virginia teaching certification preferred.
• 1+ year classroom experience with students with special education needs.
• Proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Internet research, assistive technology and MS Office.
• Valid VA driver's license with excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sight and sound supervision of students.
• Uses approved behavior management techniques to work with students in crisis.
• Assists students with personal care and personal hygiene as needed.
• May administer medications if appropriately trained.
• Leads and coordinates IEP meetings.
• Confers regularly with guardian or parent(s) to apprise them of student’s progress.
