Onward Education in Highland Park, IL seeks a dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teacher to support students in a self-contained classroom, delivering aligned instruction and promoting inclusivity.

You will collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and monitor IEP goals, track progress, and ensure documentation compliance throughout the school year.

Formación

• Active Illinois Special Education teaching license (required), LBS1.
• Experience working with elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities according to IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications with teachers, service providers and families.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track progress and adjust instructional strategies.
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Support positive behavior interventions and create a constructive, supportive learning environment.

The Special Education Teacher supports students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals, fostering academic growth, social-emotional development, and inclusive participation within the school community. This candidate will have experience in a self-contained instructional setting.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Start: ASAP
• End date: End of the School Year
• Position: Full year

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Support positive behavior interventions and create a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes student independence and success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Active Illinois Special Education teaching license (required), LBS1
• Experience working with elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
