Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking an Exceptional Student Services Coordinator and Cross-Categorical Resource Teacher for grades 6-12 at North Phoenix Preparatory Academy in Phoenix, AZ. You will design specialized instruction, collaborate with educators, and manage IEPs for students with disabilities.

The role requires 1-2 years of SPED experience, a Bachelor's in special education (Master's preferred), and SPED certification in AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education or related field is required.
• 1-2 years of special education experience.
• SPED certifications: AZ Mild to Moderate and K-12 Cross-Categorical SPED are preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide specially designed instruction for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff on accommodations/modifications.
• Draft and maintain IEPs and related paperwork in compliance with state/federal guidelines.
• Plan and facilitate meetings across the special education process.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress.
• Oversee transition processes for new enrollees eligible for special education services.
