Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom work to support and reinforce objectives.
• Administers first aid and care to medically fragile children as assigned.
• Advises parents on student progress and home strategies.
• Assesses students' social and academic needs for placement and progress.
• Collaborates with school personnel and families to improve student outcomes.
• Directs instructional assistants and volunteers to support students.
• Instructs students to improve academic and daily living skills.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Prepares teaching materials and reports documenting progress.
• Reports incidents to maintain safety and policy compliance.
• Participates in meetings to convey or gather information.
• Performs other duties to ensure effective functioning of the unit.
