The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is now accepting applications for Special Education Teachers within the Division of Student Services for the 2025 - 2026 School Year. These positions will be located IU Countywide and within our surrounding districts.

The CCIU is a dynamic educational service agency providing quality, innovative, and cost-effective programs and services to enhance the lives of students, educators, and community members.

The CCIU serves the 12 school districts in Chester County, supporting nearly 86,000 students and over 6,000 educators in both public and non-public schools. Established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971, the Chester County Intermediate Unit collaborates with the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and local districts to deliver regional services efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education required.
• PDE Special Education certification required.
• Experience teaching in K-12 special education classrooms preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
• Provide specially designed instruction for eligible students.
• Plan curriculum and lessons.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress through various assessment methods.
• Support educational objectives and interventions.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents and professionals regarding student progress.
• Develop IEPs addressing students' academic, behavioral, and speech needs when appropriate.
• Prepare report cards, educational records, and observation reports.
• Participate as an integral member of the treatment/IEP team.

Salary - 2025-2026 School Year (Professional):

$58,751 - $88,563 - Instructional I
$61,300 - $92,110 - Instructional II
$65,394 - $100,586 - Master's degree
$68,403 - $104,546 - Master's degree plus 15 credits
$69,938 - $106,442 - Master's degree plus 30 credits
