Job summary

Spindle in Grass Valley is seeking a Special Education Teacher for an elementary Special Day Class. This full-time contract runs from August 18, 2026 through June 8, 2027, with one open position for the right educator.

Requirements include a valid Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate), a passion for differentiated instruction, and strong collaboration with families and school staff to implement IEPs. Travel for relocation considered for the right candidate.

We're looking for a Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school community serving students in an elementary Special Day Class near Grass Valley. This is a full-time contract role running from August 18th, 2026 through June 8th, 2027, and we've got one position open for the right educator.

What you'll need:

• Valid and active Special Education Teaching Credential with a Mild/Moderate certification
• A genuine passion for individualized, differentiated instruction
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfort collaborating closely with families, general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to build and carry out IEPs

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and delivering instruction tailored to each student's IEP
• Collaborating with teachers, specialists, therapists, and support staff
• Tracking student progress and keeping documentation accurate and compliant
• Facilitating IEP meetings in partnership with parents and school staff
• Adapting curriculum and materials to meet the diverse social and academic needs of different learners
