Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students in Wilson, NC on a travel assignment. The role involves delivering quality services under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, and collaborating with general education staff to plan and implement student programs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, valid teaching certificate, and state endorsements; CPR and health requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification types: Elementary, Secondary, Special Teaching (preferred).
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable; TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable; Health certificate per regulations.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements; must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator in planning and implementing student programs.
• Participate in teamwork and consultation with general education staff.
• Deliver special instruction and tutorial assistance as needed.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and district regulations.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12.
