Job summary

Amergis (formerly Maxim Healthcare Staffing) seeks a Special Education Teacher for a travel assignment in Ardsley, NY, serving K-12 students under the SPED Program Administrator.

You will collaborate with general education staff, plan and implement student programs, provide targeted instruction and tutorial support, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards. Eligible candidates hold a bachelor's degree and valid state certification; health and CPR requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
• Minimum of one year teaching experience
• State Teacher Certification (Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching) preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• CPR certificate if applicable
• TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Health certificate as required
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.
• Participate in planning and implementing student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
