Overview: The Chichester School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator for a Special Education Teacher position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive instruction that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities. This position involves designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), utilizing best practices in differentiated instruction, and fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.

The current position is a learning support position with a primary curricular focus on 7th grade math.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that align with students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Provide specialized instruction that supports students in accessing the general education curriculum.
• Utilize research-based strategies to differentiate instruction and promote student success.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure effective accommodations and modifications.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Implement behavioral and social-emotional interventions as needed to support student success.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations, including proper documentation and reporting.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development opportunities.

• Candidates with a math certification (Math 7-12 or Mid-Level Math 6-9 or Mid-Level Grades 4-8 Mathematics) will be given consideration.
• Additional certifications and endorsements are a plus.
