Job summary

Cross Country Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Tempe and Phoenix, AZ area. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction to elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in a self-contained classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Active Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Arizona Special Education Cross-Categorical Teacher Certification or equivalent.
• Current NCI and CPR/First Aid Certifications.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for diverse learners.

Position Overview

• Provide specialized instruction and individualized support to elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Assess student needs, develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and monitor student progress to evaluate and adjust instructional outcomes.
• Implement appropriate behavioral strategies and approved crisis-intervention techniques, including physical restraint when necessary and permitted.
• Collaborate with instructional aides, families, related-service providers, and school staff to support student learning, development, and individualized goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Special Education preferred
• Valid Arizona Special Education Cross-Categorical Teacher Certification, or Special Education Certification with anID/MR or ED special area
• Active Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Current NCI and CPR/First Aid Certifications
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
