Job summary

Career Links is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a Resource Learning Center setting serving grades 6–12. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an educator committed to helping students achieve academic success while providing individualized instruction and support.

Responsibilities include developing IEPs, aligning instruction to state standards, collaborating with general education staff and families, monitoring progress, and participating in MDT/IEP

Qualifications

• Must hold current Washington State Special Education certification and endorsement.
• Prior Special Education teaching experience.
• Fingerprinting and OSPI background check completed.
• Ability to work with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Full-Time Schedule | 2026-2027 School Year | Competitive Pay (Based on Experience)

Career Links is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to support students in a Resource Learning Center (RLC) setting serving grades 6–12. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an educator committed to helping students achieve academic success while providing individualized instruction and support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide specialized instruction aligned with student goals and state standards
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral supports

Requirements

• Current Washington State Special Education Teaching Certification with appropriate Special Education endorsement
• Prior Special Education teaching experience
• Fingerprinting and background check completed through the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with middle school and high school students
• Experience in Resource Learning Center (RLC) or resource room settings
• Knowledge of Washington State special education regulations and compliance requirements
