Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher at Legacy Traditional Schools, you will provide one‑on‑one support to students needing special assistance, developing personalized learning plans and applying curriculum strategies to promote growth and success.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages student interests, and allows them to perform at their best.
• Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities fostering social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Explore individual student needs, provide side‑by‑side support, and develop personalized solutions that align with each learner’s style and abilities.
• Master and implement our proven curriculum, guiding students toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
• Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities, celebrate accomplishments, and encourage adherence to school values and character building.
• Model mature behavior and positive values in the classroom, on campus, and throughout the community.

Qualifications

• Holding a bachelor’s degree or more advanced degree.
• A current K‑12 Special Education Mild/Moderate or Special Education Moderate/Severe teaching certificate in the state where the position is located.
• Ability to work actively in a classroom setting involving light lifting, standing, and traveling to other campuses as required.
• Experience in providing individualized support to students with special needs.
• Background check compliance as required by state regulations.
