As a Special Education Teacher with Legacy Traditional Schools, you will connect one-on-one with students who need special support and develop personalized learning approaches and programs that promote their growth, progress, and success.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning and engages students’ interests, enabling them to perform at their very best.
• Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Explore individual needs and provide side‑by‑side support to discover how each student learns best, developing personalized solutions for their learning style and abilities.
• Master the proven curriculum, implement the school’s educational philosophy, and guide students toward curriculum goal attainment.
• Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities, celebrate accomplishments, and encourage students to uphold the school’s values and model mature behavior and good character.
• Participate in events outside of normal hours and support campus activities.
• Comply with background check requirements, including state and national criminal history checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree.
• Current K‑12 Special Education Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe teaching certificate in the state where the position is located.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as light lifting, sitting, standing, moving, and traveling to other campuses as required.
