Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking an Exceptional Education Teacher to support students in Newport, TN. The role involves providing individualized instruction, developing IEPs, and creating inclusive learning environments in partnership with a therapist-led team.

You will collaborate with district staff, families, and specialists to monitor progress, adjust guidance, and maintain compliant records for the 26–27 school year, starting August 2026. This is a 1.0 FTE, full-time position in Newport, TN.

Qualifications

• TN certification and licensure requirements for Special Education.
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or equivalent.
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs.
• Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
