Make a Difference as a Teacher with New York City Children’s Center
New York City Children’s Center (NYCCC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, is currently hiring full-time Special Education Teachers to work with students with psychiatric diagnoses.
NYCCC is a multi-faceted community-based psychiatric center providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents in the greater New York City area. With campuses in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx; NYCCC provides a variety of inpatient and community services including Day Treatment Programs, Behavioral Health Clinics, Mobile Integration Team (MIT), Community Residences, and Peer Advocacy Services. The education programs are fully integrated with inpatient services which allows NYCCC to provide a full continuum of care to the children and adolescents they serve.
As a Teacher with NYCCC, you will utilize professional training and experience to plan lessons and curriculums and instruct and evaluate the performance and progress of students. You will also performing a wide variety of tasks including:

Please note, Teachers do not accrue vacation leave. Vacation days and holidays are designated by the NYCCC school calendar, which allows for paid days off following NYS Department of Education Guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Teacher 2 – Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 3 – Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.
Teacher 4 - Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
