Job summary

Beecher School District is seeking qualified educators for a teaching position. Develop lesson plans, provide instruction, assess student progress, and maintain records in accordance with BEA contract.

Applicants must hold a valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate, a Bachelor's degree, and CI and/or LD endorsements. Include transcripts, credentials, and three letters of recommendation with your application.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate.
  • CI and/or LD endorsements issued by the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum for each student.
  • Use diverse instructional strategies (inquiry, discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.).
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to foster a productive learning environment.
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth and maintain records and progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents to discuss student progress and maintain current student data.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
A valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate
State of Michigan CI and/or LD endorsements

  • A valid State of Michigan Certificate Cognitive Impairment (CI) and/or Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement(s).
SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES (but not limited to..):
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress.
  • Maintains current student data including all relevant measures of academic progress.

Salary and fringe benefits based upon BEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
