Jobot in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and support students with diverse learning and developmental needs in a 12-month program.

The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM with on-site work, offering a comprehensive benefits package including 403(b) with match, health, dental and vision coverage, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped Standard Certificate is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or higher is required.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
• NJ Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification is preferred, or willingness to pursue it within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Provide specialized instruction based on each student’s needs and abilities
• Monitor student progress and complete required documentation
• Support behavior interventions, daily living skills, and personal care needs
• Prepare transition plans and support students toward academic and life goals

Education

We're a long-established special education organization that has been serving individuals with visual impairments and additional disabilities for more than a century. Programs support children and adults through specialized education, intervention, and community-based services.

We're hiring a full-time 12 month with extended school year Teacher of Students with Disabilities to provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and support students with diverse learning, developmental, and physical needs. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM in Jersey City.
