Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher at The Menta Education Group, you will have the opportunity to educate a small classroom of students in a self-contained setting. Our social-emotional learning environments combine engaged, inquiry-based academics with a P.B.I.S. structure.

Responsibilities

• Teach all subjects in a classroom setting
• Provide a differentiated learning environment
• Collaborate with staff, including curriculum and clinical teams, to support student success
• Gain support from other teachers, administrators, and support staff on campus
• Personalize learning experiences for students
• Create a social-emotional learning environment
• Manage a classroom of around 10 students with paraprofessional support

Qualifications

• IL PEL (Professional Educator's License) with LBS1 Certification or other valid teacher certification (non-substitute); out-of-state applicants must obtain IL certification
• Flexibility to teach multiple grade levels as student needs change
• Ability to teach across all basic instructional areas
• Experience working with youth with emotional, behavioral, or academic difficulties
• Flexibility, teamwork skills, and creative problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with clear and persuasive speaking and writing abilities
