Job summary

Merakey in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction for students with Autism, supporting IEP goals and inclusive learning.

You will design, supervise, and implement IEP plans, coordinate schedules with related services, collect data, and collaborate with a large team. The role offers a 10-month school year with summers off and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or equivalent with required coursework.
• Texas Special Education certificate.
• Experience working with students with autism or emotional support is required.

Position Description:

• The primary goal of the Autism Teacher is to provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students to empower them to become happy, confident, and productive members of their community.
• Design, supervise and implement students’ IEP plans.
• Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
• Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress.
• Effectively work with large team of professionals needs to coordinate services.
• Participate in several staff development training courses that focus onworking with students with Autism.
• Implement state of the art strategies to work effectively with studentswith Autism.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Teachers working at a Merakey School are required to have a Bachelor's degree in Special education, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
• Must possess a Texas Special Education certificate;
• Experience working with students with autism or emotional support is required; this can include student teaching.
