Job summary

Merakey in Altoona, PA is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team. The role provides specialized instruction in an individualized program to help students become happy, confident, and productive members of their community.

Responsibilities include designing, supervising and implementing IEP plans; coordinating schedules with related services and general education; collecting data and monitoring student progress; and collaborating with a large team, including Autism-focused training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a Bachelor's degree with minimum 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
• Must possess a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate; or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with ability to attain public certification within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.

Requirements
