Job summary

Total Education Solutions (TES) is seeking a Resource Room Teacher to provide targeted instruction to students with disabilities across the Greater Detroit area. You will collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, families, and related service providers to help students make meaningful academic and functional progress.

Qualifications

• MI teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.
• Bachelor's in Special Education; Master's preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities in school settings.
• Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, progress monitoring, and SPED requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction in a resource room based on each student's IEP.
• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and study skills.
• Support students in accessing and making progress within the general education curriculum.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and document student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with parents, teachers, admins, and related service providers.
• Provide accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies based on individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
• Build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations for growth.

This is an opportunity to work directly with students while collaborating with general education teachers, special education teams, families, and related service providers to help students make meaningful academic and functional progress.

Special Education Teacher

$40 - $47/hr*

*Salary range is contingent upon relatable experience, credentialing/certification, education, and use of a second language in your role (50% of the time).

Expectations:

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an appropriate Special Education endorsement
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
• Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, modifications, progress monitoring, and special education requirements
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while being an active member of a school-based team
• A student-centered mindset and commitment to helping every student reach their potential.
