Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students one-on-one and in small groups, applying personalized learning approaches to meet diverse needs.

You will work with a proven curriculum, create an engaging classroom environment, assess progress, and collaborate with families and fellow educators to foster growth, equity, and success in our primary-grade settings across campuses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Active Special Education teaching certificate in-state.
  • Demonstrates passion for teaching and helping students learn.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours events.
  • Willingness to travel between campuses as required.

Responsibilities

  • Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning and student engagement.
  • Utilize direct instruction to promote social, physical and intellectual growth.
  • Provide one-on-one support and develop personalized learning plans.
  • Master curriculum and guide learning toward goals.
  • Evaluate student progress and celebrate achievements.
  • Model values and good character in and out of the classroom.

As a Special Education Teacher , you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you connect and work one‑on‑one with students needing special support to understand both their capabilities and disabilities as you develop and apply personalized learning approaches and programs that support their growth, progress, and success. And you will do meaningful work that makes a difference for our students as you:

  • Create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students and allows them to perform at their very best.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
  • Explore individual needs and give side‑by‑side support to discover how each student best learns and develop personalized solutions to each students’ learning style and abilities.
  • Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process and students toward the achievement of the curriculum goals.
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments,
  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.

  • Holding a bachelor’s degree or more advanced degree
  • A current Special Education teaching certificate within the state the position is located.
