Job Title: Special Education (SPED) Teacher – Generalist (Grades 1–8)

Compensation: $55+/hour (W2)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Colorado teaching license with a SPED Generalist endorsement and have at least 6 months of hands-on experience working with students in grades 1 through 8.

As a Special Education teacher, you will provide individualized instruction, support diverse learning needs, and collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and families to ensure student success. This position is perfect for someone passionate about making a lasting impact on students’ academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations

Modify and adapt curriculum to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities

Provide direct instruction and support in academic, social-emotional, and behavioral areas

Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote inclusive practices

Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation

Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff development sessions

Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning

Requirements:

Valid Colorado Teaching License with a SPED Generalist endorsement

Minimum 6 months of experience in a special education teaching role

Experience with students in grades 1st through 8th

Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation

Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs

Pay Rate starting at $55/ hour
