NFI North, Inc. is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Special Purpose Private School in Buxton, Maine, a residential program serving grades 7-12.
You will plan lessons, assess progress, teach, supervise staff, and participate in IEP meetings. Qualified candidates have a degree in Education, Maine teacher license, Special Education certification (282) or eligibility, and at least two years of experience with children/adolescents.

NFI North is looking to fill an immediate opening for a Special Education Teacher at our Special Purpose Private School located in Buxton, Maine. This SPSS is part of a residential treatment program serving up to eight students for grades 7-12. Your role will include planning lessons, assessing student progress, teaching, supervising support staff who help in the classroom and participating in IEP meetings or reviews.
Our Environment: focuses on the individual needs of each student. We have a low student/teacher ratio which helps assist students in steady growth academically. Our classroom BHP’s and Clinical Staff specialize in the treatment and education of our students with a wide array of mental health diagnoses including mood disorders, complex trauma, attachment disorders. ASD and social and emotional supports.
Responsibilities include: curriculum and lesson planning, ongoing assessments, progress reports and progress monitoring, teaching and supervision of education support staff and classroom management.
Qualified candidate: must have a degree in Education and be a licensed teacher in Maine. You must also hold a Special Education certification (282) or be eligible to be conditionally certified (282) and have at least two years of experience working with children/adolescents.
