Job summary

Great Hearts Arlington Lower School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for grades K-5 to support students with IEPs in an inclusive setting. You will develop personalized plans, collaborate with a dedicated team, and ensure services align with state and federal guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and TX SPED certification, with 1-2 years of SPED experience preferred. Strong collaboration with parents and staff is essential for student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 1-2 years of special education experience.
• Valid TX Special Education Certification and Generalist or Core Academic Subject Area certification.
• Ability to plan lessons aligned to IEP goals and collaborate with staff.
• Strong communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lesson planning for activities aligned with individual IEP goals.
• Teaching subjects to students receiving special education and related services.
• Monitor and track student progress.
• Provide direct and consultative services to students with IEPs in the school environment.
• Collaborate with related service providers and assist general education staff in accommodations/modifications.
• Write and maintain all IEPs, PWNs, and evaluation paperwork.
• Plan and facilitate committee meetings throughout the special education process and communicate with parents/staff.
• Communicate with parents and staff regarding student planning and progress.
• Facilitate transition of new enrollees eligible for special education and related services.
