Job summary

Golden Hill Elementary, part of Haverhill Public Schools, seeks an Educational Support Personnel to assist teachers in delivering instruction and supporting students with special needs. The role emphasizes classroom support, behavior management, and collaboration with staff and families.

Position is full-time, with 182 or 227 school days options, and salary ranges from $28,162.68 to $31,820.88 per year. Bilingual skills are preferred and onboarding is provided.

Qualifications

• Passing score on the Para Pro Test or other state approved assessment program or 48 college credits.
• Associate Degree required.
• Willingness to accept direction and cooperate with all staff.
• Prefer prior experience with working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Physical requirements: ability to move in and out of an office, classrooms, buildings, and up and down stairs; ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds; up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Computer literate; ability to learn and use Assistive Technology.
• Ability to use Google Meets and Google Classroom, in person and virtually.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom instructional events and activities.
• Assist the teacher in implementing strategies and interventions
• Provide positive role models and treat students with respect.
• Assist in the teaching process and support students in academics, social skills, self-care, and vocational tasks.
• Assist with behavioral interventions and safety plans; support ABA strategies and discrete trials.
• Data collection and collaboration as part of a team with other staff.
