Job summary

Allegan Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional - Specialized Building Support at Allegan Elementary to assist students with academic and behavioral needs in general education and special education rooms. Responsibilities include supporting IEPs, small group instruction, and supervision during breaks; collaborate with teachers and parents; maintain confidentiality and implement behavioral plans.

Work Mon-Fri, 7 hours/day during student days, with pay based on the Paraprofessional Bargaining

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; 60+ college credits or passing ETS Parapro Assessment.
• Completion of CPI training after hire is required.
• Previous childcare or school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with academic and behavioral needs in general education and special education settings.
• Support instructional activities and small group pupil instruction as directed by staff.
• Implement IEPs and maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Supervise students during unstructured times and assist with transitions between classes.
