Job summary

Allegan Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional - Specialized Building Support to assist students with academic and behavioral needs across general and special education classrooms. The role supports the Special Education team in daily instructional activities and program implementation.

The position requires CPI training after hire, a high school diploma or equivalent, and compliance with NCLB qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and Highly Qualified under NCLB (60 college credits or Parapro)
• CPI training after hire is required
• Previous childcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist students with academic and behavioral needs in general education and special education classrooms
• Implement IEPs and support daily classroom activities
• Maintain confidentiality of school information and collaborate with staff/parents
• Supervise students during unstructured times (lunch, recess, before/after school)
• Provide support on building crisis intervention and small group instruction
