Job summary

Lincoln Elementary in Ogden, Utah, is seeking a Special Education Complex Support Needs Staff Assistant to provide intensive, specialized support to students with significant needs. The role focuses on safety, care, and implementing individualized plans, with supervision across settings.

Starting date To Be Determined. Salary is $17.85 per hour; classification Title: Staff Assistant II; Part-Time position at Lincoln Elementary within the Ogden City School District.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or in small groups to assist students in achieving educational, social, and life-skills goals under the direction of the Special Education Teacher.
• Rotate groups periodically during the school day with teachers and other staff assistants.
• May be required to assist students with physical needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, pushing wheelchairs, lifting on and off bus.
• Assist in maintaining classroom calendars, bulletin boards, and other room arrangements.
• Provide reinforcement as prescribed by the Special Education Teacher, Therapists, or nurses.
• Provide hand over hand assistance for students as needed.
• Assist regular education teachers and special education students in mainstreaming.
• Record data on individual student performance; input student information on the computer.
