Qualifications

• Some experience working with children is required.
• Must be able to assist in instructing reading, writing, and math as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing classroom programs and behavior management.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs.
• Help manage behavior of students and intervene in crisis situations.

Skills

Ability to work with children with disabilities

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Knowledge of general office equipment

Ability to present positive image to community members

CDL preferred

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate

Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours)
