Job summary

Charles City Elementary School seeks an Instructional Assistant / ParaProfessional to support the instructional program under teachers' direction. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, reinforcing instruction, and assisting in maintaining a safe, orderly classroom.

The role requires effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions, with duties that may include supervision and non-instructional tasks as needed in a 186-day school

Qualifications

Associates degree or higher preferred; or high school diploma with additional 48 semester credit hours.
Ability to work successfully with administrators, teachers, and school officials.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.

Responsibilities

Performs assigned duties related to the instructional program and student learning process.
Participates in staff development activities related to area of assignment.
Conducts small group instruction and substitutes for classroom teacher under supervision.
Maintains confidentiality with regard to student records and information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
