Job summary

The position requires a completed associate degree or 72 college hours with relevant experience, plus First Aid/CPR and background clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with school age children
• Education: associate degree or two years college
• Criminal justice fingerprint clearance and First Aid/CPR
• Knowledge of child development and instructional practices
• Ability to use basic clerical functions and basic arithmetic
• Proficiency in English written and spoken communication
• Read, interpret, and apply rules and policies
• Ability to work independently or in a team

Responsibilities

• Assist/observe students under supervision of teachers
• Implement lesson plans and support daily living and behavioral skills
• Provide instructional support in large, small, and one-on-one settings
• Adapt assignments to meet learning objectives
• Maintain student records and assist with health-related tasks
• Ensure safety and proper conduct in classrooms and on campus
• Participate in staff trainings and meetings
• Follow district policies and de-escalation techniques
