Job summary

Spring Creek Elementary in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a dedicated instructional assistant to support students with disabilities under the direction of a licensed special education teacher.

Responsibilities include creating and modifying instructional materials, assisting with IEP development and data collection, supporting behavior and safety plans, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and related service providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess one of the following before reporting: 48 semester hours, 72 quarter hours, an Associate’s degree or higher, PRAXIS ParaPro, or equivalent.
• Basic technology skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational assistance to students with disabilities and assist with developing and implementing IEPs.
• Prepare, modify, and utilize instructional materials to meet individual needs.
• Assist with data collection and progress monitoring of student development.
• Maintain safety and follow emergency and de-escalation procedures.
• Chaperone field trips and assist with parent conferences as required.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families.
