Job summary

Cedar Creek Elementary School is seeking a Teacher Assistant, Special Education to support students with disabilities. You will assist with IEP implementation, self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred related experience and knowledge of de-escalation, CPR/First Aid, and classroom management. This is a non-exempt, full-time position on site.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of district/classroom policies and procedures.
• Experience: Six (6) months of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily classroom activities; prepare/modify activities; assist with independent study or lead small groups; inform the teacher of students’ progress.
• Support the improvement of instruction and implement strategies and supports from service providers.
• Support meeting objectives of campus/department improvement plan.
• Foster independence by scaffolding support; communicate with families; manage behavior in classroom and common areas.
