Job summary

Frisco ISD seeks a dedicated Special Education Aide to assist a classroom teacher in inclusive and special education settings. You will support students with disabilities, help prepare instructional materials, and maintain records in coordination with the teacher.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care as needed, supervising students, and contributing to behavior support plans while ensuring confidentiality and alignment with IEPs. Team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or two years of higher education preferred.
• Must complete SBEC certification process for Educational Aide Certification.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials.
• Maintain administrative records and required reports.
• Provide assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities as needed (may require some lifting).
• Support students’ instructional needs per IEPs.
• Assist students with personal care as appropriate.
• Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special needs.
• Work with individual students or small groups.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development training programs and special events as assigned.
