Job summary
The Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks Supervisors on Assignment to provide leadership in the Division of Student Services, focusing on special education supervision and program development. Assignments are contracted with districts and other educational agencies, and the length is variable with renewal possibilities.
The role requires liaison with state/local agencies, strong knowledge of SPED law, and a track record in staff development and program leadership.
Qualifications
- Master's degree strongly preferred.
- PA Supervisor of Special Education or Principal certification required or enrolled in a program to obtain certification.
- Willingness to become emergency certified as Supervisor if not yet obtained.
- PA Special Education Teacher Certification PK-12 required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws and guidelines on special education.
- Technical experience includes federal/state SPED law, staff development, supervision and leadership, budgets, curriculum and assessment, and interagency collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead contracting LEAs/districts in special education supervision.
- Provide leadership in SPED staffing and programming.
- Coordinate with state and local education agencies.
