Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks Supervisors on Assignment for the Division of Student Services in Chester County. These temporary positions are contracted to districts and charters, with assignment length to be determined and extensions possible but not guaranteed.

The Supervisors will lead special education staffing and programming, coordinate with state and local agencies, and support contracting LEAs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field is highly preferred.
• Certification as PA Supervisor of Special Education or Principal, or enrollment in a program to obtain certification.
• Willingness to become emergency certified as Supervisor if not yet certified.
• PA Special Education Teacher Certification PK-12 is required.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal special education laws and guidelines.
• Experience in staff development, supervision, and interagency collaboration.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership with contracting LEA/district in special education supervisory services.
• Lead in areas of special education staffing and programming.
• Maintain extensive liaison with state and local education agencies.

Education

Master's degree in Special Education or related field

PA Supervisor of Special Education or Principal certification

Willingness to obtain emergency certification

PA Special Education Teacher Certification PK-12

Knowledge of state and federal special education laws

Experience in staff development, supervision and leadership
