Job summary

Sylvania in Michigan is seeking a Special Education Supervisor to lead and support district programs for students with disabilities. You will report to the Director of Specialized Instruction and work to align MTSS, compliance, and inclusive practices across schools.

The ideal candidate holds a master's degree in a related field, a valid Michigan teaching certificate, and a minimum of three years of SPED leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required or earned in a related field.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate in good standing.
  • Michigan SPED supervisor approval or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise special education programs and staff.
  • Coordinate MTSS and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan standards and district requirements.

Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • Full approval in at least one area of Special Education.
  • Michigan Special Education Supervisor Approval (or eligibility).
  • Minimum three years successful experience in special education.
Preferred:
  • Administrative certification or endorsement.
  • Leadership experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with MTSS, TCIS, inclusive practices, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
