Job summary

Atlantic County Special Services is seeking a Substitute Teacher for a Special Education setting. You will manage a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher and deliver age-appropriate lessons while following the lesson plan provided.

Qualifications include a valid New Jersey Substitute Instructional Certificate and at least 60 college credits or vocational experience. Prior substitute teaching is preferred, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid New Jersey Substitute Instructional Certificate.
• 60 college credits and/or vocational experience.
• Successful substitute teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to follow lesson plans left by the permanent teacher.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher and deliver age-appropriate lessons.
• Greet students, supervise, and maintain classroom discipline.
• Follow district policies and the assigned lesson plan.
• Complete end-of-day evaluation reports and coordinate next-day assignments.
