Job summary

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools McDougle Middle School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina is seeking an EC Resource Teacher to support students with special needs on a 10-month school-site schedule. This position reports to the School Principal and follows the CHCCS salary schedule for certified staff.

Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible to hold a NC teaching license.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to student needs.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Communicates with parents to discuss student progress and interprets the school program.
• Collaborates with colleagues to promote an optimal learning environment and perform related duties as assigned.
