Job summary

Niles Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant - Resource Room for the 26-27 school year. The role requires strong communication and professionalism for daily interaction with students, staff, and the community.

Essential duties include assisting in planning and implementing educational activities, supervising students, and supporting teachers with small-group instruction while maintaining confidentiality and a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of college (60 hours) or an Associate's degree or higher.
• Passing scores on the required state assessments (SAT 480 ERW/530 M, Parapro 460).
• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or reading/writing readiness and mathematics readiness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing educational activities; supervise students as directed by the teacher.
• Participate in meetings, staffings, and district activities.
• Support instructional activities with small groups or individual students as directed.
