Job summary

East Hartford Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Resource Paraprofessional for a 6.25-hour day at O’Brien Elementary School. The role focuses on assisting in implementing IEPs and supporting the physical, emotional, and educational needs of students under supervision of the Special Education Supervisor and building administration.

The position requires an Associates Degree or 60 college credits or proof of passing the ETS ParaPro Assessment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 60 college credits required or proof of passing ETS ParaPro Assessment.
• Candidate eligibility may include ParaPro Assessment or degree/credits as stated.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEP-based activities and supports.
• Provide instructional and behavioral support to students under supervision.
• Prepare and distribute instructional materials to support accessibility and engagement.
• Support students in group and individual settings and reinforce lessons.
• Assist with student supervision during breaks, field trips, and bus/van travel.
• Communicate progress and needs with the classroom teacher.
