Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support students with IEPs in MSD Decatur Township. You will assist general and special education teachers in implementing plans, modify materials, read quizzes, and supervise students during class and field trips.

The role requires strong communication with staff, flexibility, and respect for confidentiality. A High School Diploma or GED is expected, and experience with special needs is preferred. Training in behavior support may be provided.

Qualifications

• Assist in implementing individual students’ IEPs and behavior plans.
• Support students in general education classes by copying notes, modifying tests, and reading assessments.
• Assist with daily care needs and supervision; maintain confidentiality.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED; experience with students with special needs.
• May require sensory interpretation and student restraint training.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Copy notes, modify tests, read quizzes, and conduct small group sessions.
• Assist with daily care tasks as needed.
• Monitor student progress and report concerns.
• Maintain student accommodation and behavior records.
• Supervise students in classroom, transit, and activities.
