String Theory Schools is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher at the Philadelphia Charter School for Arts and Sciences. The candidate should be certified as a Reading Specialist and join a collaborative team serving urban students in a technology-infused, project-based program.

The role includes developing IEPs, implementing FBA/PBSP and 504 plans, monitoring progress, and partnering with general education teachers to align curricula with standards and competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; PA certification in Special Education and Reading Specialist preferred.
• 1–3 years experience with Special Education students.
• Criminal history, child abuse and FBI clearances required.
• US citizenship or work permission; Philadelphia charter school will not sponsor a visa.
• Candidates must have official PA state teacher certification or be working towards it.

Philadelphia Charter School for Arts and Sciences seeks a full-time Special Education teacher who is certified as a reading specialist to join the teaching team at the A&S. At A&S, students engage in a unique educational environment designed to grow the next generation of creative leaders, and where students focus on the arts and sciences as major subjects alongside a technology-infused, project-based, standards- and competency-driven academic curriculum. Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree
• PA Certification in both Special Education and Reading Specialist Preferred
• 1-3 years experience with Special Education students
• Criminal history, child abuse and FBI clearances (Acts 34, 151 and FBI)
• Candidates must be US Citizens and have permission to work in the United States. Philadelphia Charter School for Arts and Sciences will not sponsor a Visa for a candidate.
• Candidates must either have an official PA state teacher certification, not an emergency certification, or be working towards their official certification.
