Job summary

Willamette Connections Academy, a tuition-free K-12 online public school sponsored by the Scio School District in Oregon, seeks a Manager of Special Education. The role oversees all aspects of SPED service delivery, ensuring compliance with state and federal rules and maintaining data to support least-restrictive environment programs.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional practice or administrative experience in special education.
• Master’s in SPED or Administrator license preferred.
• Must meet continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with special education processes and timelines across all schools.
• Develop standardized processes, forms and protocols for all special education procedures.
• Establish a database of relationships with school districts, providers and community agencies.
• Establish procedures for placement, evaluation and IEP/504 management.
• Oversee referrals, IEP/504 development, assessments, and annual reviews; maintain documentation in LMS.
• Conduct school-based special education meetings.
• Coordinate set-up and delivery of IEP-mandated services, in-house or contracted.
• Oversee accommodations for state testing and SST processes.
• Collaborate with school team on programming for students with special needs.
• Work with parents to ensure compliance and maximize learning in FAPE.
• Develop knowledge of curricular options and adapt for student needs in virtual environment.
• Plan and evaluate staff in-service activities; support summer school offerings.
• Maintain knowledge of current theory and legislation in Special Education; ensure staff certification compliance.
• Oversee EL Program and coordinate state testing accommodations.

Skills
