Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas Special Education Teacher Certification.
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Three years of successful Special Education teaching or related services experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) through the ARD process for each student assigned.
• Implement instructional or therapeutic programs and show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting students' learning styles and needs.
• Modify regular curricula with teachers as needed for identified students.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings; assist in selecting equipment and instructional media.
• Maintain confidentiality and file all required reports and records.
