Job summary

Friendship Public Charter School in Washington, DC seeks a Special Education Coordinator (SEC) to organize and support the Special Education Team across administrative and instructional duties, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education required.
Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
Five years of relevant Special Education classroom teaching experience required.
Five years of urban teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Organize, facilitate, and support the Special Education Team's administrative and instructional needs.
Communicate regularly with the Director of Special Education about student population and program development.
Maintain demographics and documents for students on IEPs and in referrals.
Manage special education staff and related service providers; support parent communications.
Provide information on federal, state, and local regulations governing special education to school leadership.
